The people who built these neighborhoods should not have to leave them. I will work to make it easier to stay in your home, get around safely, and stay connected to your community.

Aging in place should be a real choice, not a monthly financial struggle. I will push for:

• Property tax assistance: Regular help at Camden Community Center and our libraries so qualifying homeowners can understand and apply for property tax postponement.

• Freedom to build and stay: Easier ADU approvals so a backyard home can bring family closer or supplement a fixed income. I support pre-approved plans, faster review, and reduced fees for units housing family members or seniors.

• Safer homes: Simpler permits and reduced fees for accessibility improvements in owner-occupied homes.

• More senior housing: Move Cambrian Village's planned senior housing forward and support new housing along transit corridors while protecting neighborhood character.

• Attention to fixed incomes: Ask for a clear explanation of how proposed city fee and utility rate increases affect households living on Social Security.

I am Serious About Safety. That means protecting your independence as well as your neighborhood.

• Safer crossings: Longer crossing times and better visibility near community centers, shops, and medical offices.

• Walkable sidewalks: Proactive repairs, clear responsibility, and help accessing tree-planting programs for more shade.

• Working streetlights: Clear repair timelines and follow-through on reported outages.

• Emergency access: Staffing, station coverage, and streets that let emergency crews reach your door.

• Reliable transportation: Help eligible residents apply for VTA ACCESS and advocate for rides to essential services.

Stay connected. Have a voice.

Nobody should lose access to their community as they get older. I will work to:

• Protect Camden Community Center: Prioritize senior meals, services, and expanded programming.

• Reach homebound neighbors: Connect residents with transportation assistance and meal-delivery options.

• Fight scams and elder abuse: Partner on prevention workshops and clear, accessible reporting information.

• Keep city services accessible: Support technology help while preserving phone and paper options.

• Listen before deciding: Include seniors in my District 9 advisory group and hold regular office hours at Camden.
