I want our kids and grandkids to be able to afford to live in our neighborhoods. I want our families to be able to stay in their homes. And I want neighbors to have a real say in what gets built next door. We should not have to choose one over the others.

Housing for everyone means longtime residents can stay, and the next generation can build a life here too. It also means planning for the streets, services, and infrastructure that growth requires.

• Neighbors get a say: I will fight to protect public notice and hearing rights for neighborhood housing proposals. Residents deserve clear information, meaningful input, and answers before decisions are made.

• Corridors first: Prioritize new housing on transit corridors and underused retail sites. At Cambrian Village, I support building housing first, with enforceable commitments to senior housing, park space, bike lanes, and restoring the carousel sign as a prominent community landmark within the new development.

• Safety built into growth: I am Serious About Safety. Parking, crosswalk visibility, and room for fire engines and ambulances must be part of housing decisions, not problems left for residents to solve afterward.

• Growth that supports city services: I will evaluate housing proposals with an eye toward funding parks, libraries, street repairs, and emergency services. Growth should help support the basics, not leave neighborhoods with unfunded needs.

Homes that help people stay

New housing should create opportunities for families and protect neighbors from displacement. I will work for:

• Room for family and extra income: Easier ADU permits so backyard homes can bring parents or grown children closer, or supplement a fixed income and support aging in place.

• Support for seniors and renters: Help qualifying senior homeowners understand and apply for property tax postponement, and enforce existing renter protections against displacement.

• Affordable housing that gets delivered: Press for the timely delivery of approved affordable and senior housing, not just more plans.

• Permanent housing with support: Prioritize permanent supportive housing with services over another round of temporary sites. The goal should be lasting stability, not moving people from one short-term placement to another.

I have worked for the City of San José for over 11 years in the Building Department and Public Works. I know the permit process from the inside and will demand clear infrastructure answers before casting a vote.
